About the band |
|
The Cape May is a trio from Calgary, Alberta Canada that formed in 2002. Matt Fiegel, the bassist of the band also plays in Women, another Calgary band. In 2004 the Cape May released their debut album, “Central City May Rise Again,” through local label Flemish Eye Records. Soon after, the band played with such bands as Grizzly Bea, Songs: Ohia, the Constantines, Patrick Watson, and the Weakerthans. In 2006, the band played as the back up band for New York-based singer songwriter Nina Nastasia (Touch & Go, Fat Cat) on her U.S. and European tour. Their presence has been gaining steadily growing worldwide attention since then. In the same year the band released their second album, “Glass Mountain Roads,” which was recorded by Steve Albini. The album was a huge critical success and graced the annual top ten lists of numerous music publications. |
