About the band

Well the world is still a big place! You can find beautiful poetic voices in the most unexpected places. For all the fans of beautiful elegant chanteuses, we introduce Holly Throsby. Throsby hails from Sydney, Australia and her debut album, “On Night,” was released by Spunk Records in 2004. In 2006 she released “Under the Town,” her second album, and established herself as one of Australia’s leading artists. Her name is now widely known in North America and Europe and she has toured with Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Joanna Newsome, Smog, Devendra Banhart, Low, Mark Kozelek, David Pajo, the Eels, M. Ward and others. She has performed on recordings by and sang duets at live shows with Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Hayden, New Buffalo, Sarah Blasko, and Glen Hansard (the Frames) and gained the adoration and respect of the same artists. And in January 2009, Contrarede released her third album, “A Loud Call,” in Japan. Prepare to have your heart wrenched by her beautiful voice.
