Rainer Maria was formed in 1995 in Madison, Wisconsin in the aftermath of Ezra Pound. The band’s emotionally raw lyrical content and guitar sound made it one of the representative bands of the 90s emo scene. Sadly, the band broke up in 2006, but Caithlin de Marrais, the band’s vocalist has now launched a career as a solo artist. Marrais’ musical output, characterized by a kind and heart-aching strength, never fails to move us.
