90年代初頭から隆盛を極めて来たEMOシーンを語る上で、絶対外せない存在と言えばRAINER MARIA。2006年に惜しくも解散してしまいましたが、その心はまだまだ燃え続けています。ソングライター／ギタリストだったKYLE FISCHERもソロ・アーティストとしてしっかり活動中。
ソロとしての活動はRAINER MARIAと並行してスタート。2001年にPOLYVINYL RECORDSからリリースされた『OPEN GROUND』で、その繊細な唄心は既に確立されていました。そしてRAINER MARIA解散後はレーベル「END UP RECORDS」も設立して様々なアーティストもバックアップ。同じく元RAINER MARIAのメンバーだったCAITHLIN DE MARRAIS嬢を始め、BALTHROP,ALABAMA、NE’ER DO EVERS、SEB LEONなどの作品をリリースしています。そして自らのセカンド・ソロ・アルバム『BLACK MILK』ももちろんEND UP RECORDSより発表。ゆったりと確実に新たな道を歩き始めているのです。

About the band

One can’t discuss the 90s emo scene without mentioning Rainer Maria. Sadly the band broke up in 2006, but its spirit is alive in the solo output of its songwriter and guitarist Kyle Fischer.

Fischer’s solo career started while Rainer Maria was still active. When he released “Open Ground” on Polyvinyl Records in 2001, his delicate and poetic musical style was already well known. In the ashes of Rainer Maria, he launched the “End Up Records” label and provided support for a number of artists. The label has released recordings by Caithlin de Marrais, also formerly of Rainer Maria, Balthrop, Alabama, Ne’er Do Evers, Seb Leon and others. Fischer’s own second solo effort was also released on End Up Records. Fischer is slowly but steadily walking down a new path.
